We prefer that actors use our iOS or Android app to connect to the session. 

We feel that when talent use their phone audition, they often light and frame themselves better than when they use a laptop or desktop computer. When you send out your times, you will send out a simple check in link. This link collects basic information that will be added to the sign in sheet. After checking in the talent gets a room code to enter into the app or to click from their computer. 

Every session includes a dedicated support person to help with any technical issues. We pride ourselves on always finding a way to get your talent connected to the session.

Your dedicated support rep will assist any clients having trouble getting on to the web app. Our client app is a Chrome based web app and requires no downloads as long as you have Google Chrome or a Chromium based clone.

In most cases we can accept same day bookings. More notice is preferable.

We can provide a professional session runner for your session or callback. If you’d like to use your own session runner, we provide training sessions on a weekly basis.

Hey Joe is a service built from the ground up for casting. There are different access points for talent, casting professionals, and producers each with unique features. Services like autogenerated sign in sheets, instantaneous posting of video clips, and private client chat are just a few things that set us apart from Video Chat apps like Zoom. The ability to chat privately between the casting and production team while the auditions are taking place is a real time saver. Producers and directors can also make picks and notes right on the web app and share these notes with the team…just as if you were together in the room. 

You have a few options. You can send a client link out from our website, or we can transfer the clips to the video posting service of your choice.

All recordings are instantly posted to a video review page. From the video review page, the clips can be edited before being copied to a posting page or the video posting service of your choice.

We can post to any service or database that you share access to.

You send your clients a secure link that requires authentication to join. Your clients can either create an account on our website or use their Google account to sign up. Only logged in users can access project materials like talent information, comments and video clips. It’s always possible to see all users logged into the website.

You will be provided with a check-in link to send to talent before the audition. The check in link will collect basic information like name, cell phone, email address. Once checked in, talent will be sent an SMS code for the virtual lobby.

Yes! Every project automatically includes a virtual lobby to check lighting and sound and give the talent notes. It’s very easy for talent and casting to move between the lobby and the audition room.

There is always a dedicated support person assigned to your project to help with any technical issues with either clients or talent

The “Video Review” page, which is a scratch version of the session, is accessible throughout the audition process. As soon as a talent is done auditioning, their videos are posted to the video review page. 

Yes, we can provide different posting pages with edit links

Yes, our system allows for auditioning groups

Each meeting room can support about 30 participants at once…usually more than enough for a casting session.

You can audition as many people are you can comfortably schedule. We don’t recommend scheduling more than 100 talent for a remote session. 

ACTORS FAQ

When you receive your audition notice you will also receive a link to check in to your audition 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. We encourage you to audition from your phone as your phone usually has a better camera than your computer and will also allow more options for framing the shot. After you check in to the session using the link, we will send you an SMS with a room code to enter into the Hey Joe app. This code will bring you into a virtual waiting room where the casting director will check your lighting and sound.

When you check in to the session and receive the SMS code and URL to the virtual lobby, you can simply message the virtual lobby link to yourself and open it on your computer. Once you paster the virtual lobby link into a browser, it will bring you directly into the virtual meeting room. Please allow access to your camera and microphone when prompted.

Our service is completely free for actors. We charge producers.

If the casting director and director leave their cameras on you will be able to see them. You may need to touch the square that corresponds to their connection to see them full screen.

Hey Joe has an integrated group chat feature that is inaccessible to talent that allows clients and casting to group chat and private share documents.

Yes you can, but currently our iOS and android apps are meant for talent so they don’t include project information like size cards, schedules and collaboration tools. We are hoping to release a client iOS app in the first quarter of 2021.

Yes, every meeting includes a dial in number number to connect voice via telephone.
